Chapter 1 Halloween Part 2Sebastian hated Saturdays. It meant that there was only one more day off and he would spend most of that in church. Tonight wouldn't make things any better, despite the fact it was Halloween. His mother's deepening depression meant that he not only had to make his own costume, but that he would be on his own tonight. The costume was pretty easy as he had found a sheet and pillow case for a dollar at the local flea market. He had cut eyeholes and a mouth out of the sheet. He slipped the sheet over his head now and picked up his pillowcase. He headed downstairs and saw his brother heading out with a box of toilet paper. Shaking his head, Sebastian hopped down the front steps and walked sullenly down the road. It didn't help his mood that just about every kid he saw was with at least one parent. After a few houses, he stopped to look at his haul. Two caramel apples, one popcorn ball and a few dozen chocolate bars.
